Celebrating big anniversaries creates an opportunity for reflection on our programme and pushes us to think about how we move forward into the future to continue legacy of the Strathclyde MBA.
In this video, our MBA Programme Director, Prof Alex Dickson, reflects on the history of the Strathclyde MBA and comments on how we have continued to innovate creating a programme that is practice focused, built on rigorous foundations, and creates responsible leaders of the future.
May
At the Strathclyde MBA, we keep the tagline 'the place of useful learning' at the heart of our programme.
As part of our refreshed MBA content is a new module called: Client Impact Challenge. This provides students with the opportunity to work with real clients on business challenges in a time-pressured environment, presenting back their findings to the clients for feedback.
This past month, our fulltime MBA students completed their CIC module working with Chest and Stroke Scotland. The challenge gave students the chance to apply their consulting skills to a live organisational brief, with a strong focus on:
- Market research to uncover insights on customers, segments, and comparators
- Pricing options and strategy
- Value proposition design, including cost-benefit analysis for users

June
As June comes to a close, we wrap up another year of our MBA Summer School Programme - every year, students MBA students from all delivery paths of our MBA come together in Glasgow (or in our centres) to take their two required electives.
Additionally, they are joined by recent alumni who have the opportunity to come back to campus and take three electives free of charge!
It's always a pleasure to welcome our alumni back to campus - it creates further learning, collaboration and connection for our students. Watch the video to hear about two recent full-time alumni discuss returning for electives and the insights they gained from further engagement with the MBA programme
July
This month, we were delighted to welcome members of the MBA Class of 1989 (Alligin) back to Strathclyde Business School as part of their Glasgow reunion.
From the moment they arrived, the room was filled with laughter, shared memories, and genuine warmth—it felt as though the years had simply melted away. The group spent time exploring the campus, enjoying a tour of the Business School, and even recreated a treasured class photo before continuing with the rest of their reunion weekend.
As they departed, there was already talk of the next milestone, with plans to bring as many of the cohort back to Glasgow as possible for their 40th reunion in 2029. It was a wonderful reminder of the lasting friendships and strong connections that are built through our MBA programme. Seeing these relationships continue to thrive decades after graduation is a testament to the enduring Strathclyde community.
A special thank you to Ashley Braganza, Andrew Jones, Danny Cusick, Douglas Norris and Jutta Norris for visiting us. If you're keen on a reunion - please reach out!
